Dr. Jean-Machelle Benn-Dubois is from the Caribbean island of Antigua & Barbuda. She is an International psychologist and the founder of Professional Counseling & Consultancy Services. As a licensed therapist, she offers evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy, psychological assessment, and EMDR trauma therapy to individuals and couples. Her specialized clinical areas address a wide range of developmental issues and clinical disorders, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, stress difficulties, anger management, grief & loss, career adjustment, and interpersonal and relationship issues. She is also a relaxation coach specializing in six relaxation techniques: Yoga, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Deep Breathing, Imagery, Autogenic, and Meditation & Mindfulness.
Her academic journey started with a BSc. in Sociology and Psychology from the University of the West Indies, Barbados, then an MA. in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL, and a PhD. in International Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Chicago, IL. She also holds a graduate certificate in Relaxation, Meditation and Mindfulness and is a trained EMDR Trauma specialist by the EMDR Institute, Inc. Founded by Francine Shapiro, PhD.
Dr. Benn-Dubois is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Ohio. She is a certified Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) by the Center of Credentialing Education with professional memberships with the American Psychological Association (APA) Div 52 and the USA Board of National Certified Counselors (NCC).
